PARIS/MILAN (Reuters) – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV has reached a preliminary agreement with France on the terms of its proposed merger with Renault, two sources told Reuters when the French automaker`s board of directors met late on Wednesday to consider the offer. Renault`s directors, who meet at the company`s headquarters in Boulogne-Billancourt outside Paris, could decide on Wednesday whether to approve a memorandum of understanding or framework agreement that would begin the long process of a full merger. Lecce had also wanted concessions on a regulation requiring hiring based on seniority and, although the agreement does not mention such concessions, it also does not reveal any with guarantees that the government will not be able to make changes to the regulation. The government and the Association des enseignants et des enseignants franco-ontariens (AEFO) announced their preliminary agreement late Tuesday afternoon. The deal is the third between the government and the province`s major teachers` unions in recent weeks, after months of contented negotiations. Anne-Marie Gélineault, Vice-Chair of the Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l`Ontario, said: « The Board of Directors is extremely pleased with the proposed agreement, which benefits CSPGNO`s teaching staff. By working hand in hand with our teachers, we can continue to provide our students with quality training in a stimulating and dynamic learning environment. Highlights of the Elementary Ontario Federation`s new preliminary contract were sent to its members this week.
